Helene Sanford

As Chief Human Resources Officer at Saddle Creek, Helene provides strategic leadership and oversees human resources for nearly 6,000 associates. She joined the third-party logistics company as Vice President of Human Resources in 2015 and was promoted to her current role in 2020.

During her tenure, Saddle Creek has grown from $400 million to $1 billion in revenue, and its workforce has increased by 137%. Helene has helped the company to support record growth and has been instrumental in building a solid HR infrastructure that can scale with the business. She has also created a succession-planning process to prepare the company for the future.

Helene has more than 30 years of experience in HR leadership roles. After starting her career at DynCorp, a defense contractor in Reston, Va., she served as Vice President of HR at MediaMap and Thomson Financial and as Director of Compensation, Benefits and HRIS, at Intersil Corporate before joining Saddle Creek.

Helene earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology and is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) and a Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM).
